John & Annie Glenn Museum & Tour of Zanesville
the John and Annie Glenn Museum, which honors the first American to orbit the Earth, we'll learn about this astronaut/senator's boyhood home which has been moved back to Main Street in New Concord. It is beautifully restored as it was when he lived there until his enlistment in World War II.
John Glenn once said that he and his wife have lived one third of American history. The museum's goal is to bring to life aspects of that time, namely life during the Great Depression and on the Home Front during WWII.
After we visit the museum on New Concord, a tour guide will join us and give us a tour of the historic city of Zanesville which was once the capital of Ohio. Founded in 1800, this early commerce center is rich with history.
Before heading home, we will have lunch at The Golden Corral Restaurant.
